FAQ

Q: Single-inlet or dual-inlet centrifugal — which fits a compact chassis?

A: A single-inlet wheel draws air from one face only, so the blower mounts flush against a panel and the discharge ducts away in one plane; a dual-inlet wheel of the same diameter moves roughly twice the airflow but needs both faces clear. The DG120 trades width for pressure: 300 m³/h against 405 Pa from a 120 mm one-sided wheel. In shallow cabinets — kiosk purge, laser enclosures, wall-hung fresh-air units — that pressure-per-depth is what makes the duct work; where both sides are open and airflow rules, choose dual-inlet instead.

Q: How quiet can it run in noise-sensitive equipment?

A: Full-speed rating is 58 dB(A) (series span 56–61). As an EC motor with 0-10V/PWM or 3-speed taps, speed can be trimmed to the true duty: at about 70% speed you keep roughly 70% of airflow, shed 7–8 dB(A) and draw about a third of the power. In a bathroom extractor or bedroom fresh-air unit that is the difference between audible and unnoticed. Keep a minimum-speed floor near 30% so the motor keeps its cooling airflow and the impeller stays in its stable range.

Q: How does a 120 mm wheel reach 405–605 Pa?

A: Static pressure follows tip speed and blade work, not wheel diameter alone. At 2,150 r/min this 120 mm wheel runs about 13.5 m/s tip speed and builds 405 Pa; the faster DG120B (2,600 r/min) reaches 605 Pa from the same diameter. A larger wheel would buy airflow and quieter running rather than pressure — if the duct is long and narrow for its flow, a small fast wheel is the honest route to 400 Pa-class duty.
