FAQ

Q: The BC220 comes in AC, DC and EC — how do I pick one?

A: AC: fixed-speed or 3-speed duty where nothing modulates and cost rules. DC (24 V wide-range, 115 V): battery or vehicle power. EC (0-10V/PWM): anything that modulates. All three share the 220 mm frame and mounting, so you can prototype with one motor technology and production-order another without redesigning the chassis.

Q: What kind of duct system actually needs 590–815 Pa?

A: Pressure budgets add up fast: a HEPA terminal alone eats 250–400 Pa at face velocity, an ERV core 100–200 Pa, and every meter of duct and each bend adds its share. Total a filtration stage, a recovery core and a 10 m run, and 600 Pa is gone. The BC220’s 920–1,180 m³/h at up to 815 Pa is sized for exactly such resistance-heavy paths.

Q: My fan got noticeably louder after commissioning — what moved?

A: Almost always the operating point. If a damper was opened or a filter section was left out, the fan ran out along its curve toward free air — where backward-curved fans get loud. Re-check the system curve against the fan curve and confirm the point still sits right of the pressure peak. If it drifted left of peak, add resistance back or reduce speed; running in the unstable valley causes noise and vibration.
