FAQ

Q: How much energy does slowing an EC fan actually save?

A: Fan laws: airflow scales linearly with speed, pressure with its square, and power with its cube. Drop speed 20% and power falls to about half; 30% saves roughly two-thirds. That cube law is why EC modulation pays back quickly on any fan running long hours at part load, while an AC fan on step control can only sit on a fixed tap.

Q: 24 V or 48 V DC — how do I choose between the BC190 builds?

A: Follow the bus you already have: 24 V is the solar, off-grid and vehicle standard; 48 V is telecom and IT. At the same power, doubling voltage halves current, so 48 V wiring loses four times less energy as heat (I²R) and can run thinner conductors. If you are designing the power system rather than matching it, 48 V is usually the better physics.

Q: Is this fan rated for continuous 24/7 duty in electronics cabinets?

A: Yes — that is its core job. IP54 sealing, ball bearings and a −25 °C to +60 °C window cover shelter and cabinet environments, and the EC motor’s cool-running efficiency means less self-heating in a sealed enclosure. Keep the inlet clear and dust the impeller occasionally; dust imbalance is the main real-world source of vibration.
