FAQ

Q: Why do condensers, dry coolers and evaporators use axial fans instead of centrifugal?

A: Coil duty is high volume at low resistance — air crossing a finned coil typically needs only 100–300 Pa. In that band an axial fan moves more air per watt and per dollar than any centrifugal. The AF series is built for exactly this window: 1,750–10,000 m³/h at up to 300 Pa, with the guard already included in the performance data.

Q: Does the finger guard cost me airflow?

A: A well-designed rounded-wire guard costs typically under 5% of free-airflow, and our published curves are measured with the guard fitted — what you read is what you get. Never spec a bare fan and add a guard later: the operating point shifts and noise can rise. The guard also keeps leaves, cables and fingers out of the blade plane, a compliance requirement for accessible outdoor units.

Q: How do I split airflow across several fans on one condenser?

A: Size by coil face velocity first — 2.5–3.5 m/s is the usual condenser window — then divide the total volume among the fan positions. In parallel, airflows add nearly linearly, but note that two identical fans together add about 3 dB(A) and four add about 6 dB(A), which matters near night-time noise limits.
